Hamish's Vehicle Services began the way many good Kiwi businesses do - in a farm shed.

From those early beginnings, Hamish moved the workshop into Gore and employed the well respected Honda mechanic Darryn. It was not your typical employment arrangement: Darryn joined the business while also supervising Hamish through his automotive apprenticeship. It was a practical and creative solution that reflected the resourcefulness HVS was built on. Practical problem solving, surrounding the business with good people and getting the job done properly.

The workshop quickly earned the trust of both the local farming community and Gore residents, and the business grew steadily through word of mouth and loyal customers. Mike joined the team in 2011 and remains an important part of the workshop 15 years later.

HVS later expanded its vehicle sales operations throughout the South Island, but the Gore workshop has continued to provide the same dependable servicing and repairs to many of the same familiar customers. We pride ourselves on well thought through diagnostics and practical solutions.
